This story did all the things to me that I’m always hoping stories will do: pulled me in, held me spellbound, made me care and laugh and worry and hope-activating all kinds of longing and then satisfying it all. They are both so complex, so in need of love healing, and so worth rooting for in all their struggles-it’s a delight to see how falling for each other inspires them to be brave in love. ![]() They feel like real people: flawed in some ways but so wise in others getting it wrong sometimes, but trying like heck good-hearted and earnest and lovable. At first, they seem destined to clash, but as life keeps throwing them together, they get the chance to look past first impressions. I spent a sunny spring weekend gulping this story down on a blanket in the yard, and I fell madly in love with Briana and Jacob-two ER doctors who have been quite unlucky in love. Put me in the Abby Jimenez fan club-because I could tell in a matter of sentences that I was in the hands of a writer who knew exactly what she was doing, and I could relax and just let her take me wherever we needed to go. From the very first page of Yours Truly, I knew I was going to love it. ![]()
